This Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) type inverter are cheaper mostly used in off-grid solar in households and commercial applications. PWM inverter works on switching basis with following operation philosophy with help of contactor,
- During the battery deep discharge, contactor ON & inverter work as boost mode.
- Contractor flicked ON & OFF as needed to hold the battery voltage at the absorption voltage.
- Contractor OFF at the end of absorption while the battery voltage drops to the float mode.
