How to Calculate Electricity Rate?
For Domestic Consumers:
Step 1: How many units of electricity are consumed by you in a month? Let suppose, your answer (consumed unit) will be 2596 Units.
Step 2 : Now, you need to check your consumed units come in which slab rate. As per above answer it will come in "Above 801 Units" and its "Per Unit Cost" is 7.10 Rs.
Step 3 : You can simply multiply "Consumed Units * Per Unit Cost".
For Example:-
Your Consumed Units is 2596 Units and Per Unit Cost is Rs. 7.10. Now apply the formula -
"Consumed Units * Per Unit Cost"
Then, Energy Charges + Other Charges = Total Electricity Bill
"18436.57 + 1608.4 = 20044.57"
For Commercial Consumers:
There is no slab unit rate for commercial consumers as well as there is no subsidy on this type meter connection.
Avg. price of commercial electricity rate of Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited is "6.40" and then Consumed Units are "9380",
then Electricity bill of this onsumer is 9380 * 6.40 = 60032.
Electricity Bill of the Consumer is "60032".
How to Check TNEB Electricity Bill Amount?
The electricity bill amount equals the product of units consumed and the rate per unit. The number of units consumed can be found from the meter reading.
Most of the DISCOMs have their own app/ website where you can check the status, bill amount, etc. once you login to your account. They also allow to pay online.
